School Beautification

As part of the RCEF grant, high school students sought to beautify our school with some public artworks. They painted the poles outside of the school and spray painted the door with chalkboard paint so it can be used for messages. They sanded the surfaces to prep them for paint. S. taped the handle and other mechanisms with blue painter's tape to preserve them. We used exterior latex paint in matte finish. The poles were painted black and white to create a value scale that starts at the parking lot with dark value and leads to light value (based on the balance of black and white).
